Speaking piano

Some Austrians using computers and a real piano make analog synthesized speech. Basically they have an actuator over every key on a piano, and they figured out how to use a computer to control the set up such that a series of keys pressed together in certain ways creates speech. The voice kind of scares me, but the choice of a little boy would do that.

Novation grid controller, yet another monome clone




Novation is shipping in the beginning of November their version of the monome. Whats nice about it is that its designed with Abelton's Live in mind. With a $200 price tag it seems like it might be good for someone who has been thinking of trying one of these controllers out to give it a whirl.
